Joining the art world

This year I was accepted into the Pastel Society of the Gold Coast. Now I feel like I am playing with the big kids. I continue to study under Janeen Behl. This past year has been about developing a better understanding of tonal value and color and exploring a variety of subject matter. I was fortunate to attend a 3 day workshop with well known pastel artist, Richard McKinley.

I can boasta bit and say that I have taken a 1st and 3rd at the 2015 Conejo Valley art show, a 2nd at their 2016 show, a 2nd at the Westlake Village Art Guild show, Honorable Mention at the Santa Paula Show, a 1st at the Ventura County Fair (2 years ago) and most recently an honorable mention at the Pastel Society of the Gold Coast's Passion for Pastels show. I have even sold some of my work. Progress is definitely being made. Although, I do admit the process of making this art is rewarding enough in itself.

I continue to learn and grow and feel fortunate to be surrounded by so much support through my friends and fellow artists. I hope you enjoy viewing my work and consider having one for your very own.
